Committee
CSAJ contributes to the development of PC software
industry through several committee activities, such as presenting recommendations
from member firms to the administrative organs.
IT Policies Committee
The committee monitors national policies and IT industry trends, meeting
when necessary to conduct activities, such as compiling policy proposals.
A member of the Board is assigned to each activity, with the Board member
playing a central role in deliberations and implementation.
Market Research Committee
The committee will become inactive with the completion of the gPC Software
Market Trend (1986 ? 2005).h The Secretariat will consider new themes for
market studies based on CSAJ member needs and advice from industry experts.
In the meantime, a compilation of past data will be edited into gChanges
in PC Software Trends (comprehensive summary version)h and made public
together with links to various statistical studies conducted by other organizations.
Legal Protection and Intellectual Property Committee
The members are composed of corporate lawyers and patent attorneys for
CSAJ member companies or CSAJ itself, as well as outside experts. The committee
actively submits position papers to relevant government offices. At the
same time, relevant government officials and experts are invited as lecturers
to hold timely and instructive presentations for CSAJ members on legal
and intellectual property issues.
Business Support Services Committee
This is an umbrella committee which establishes the following sub-committees
based on member needs to enhance member business activities and to contribute
to the growth of the computer software industry.
Business Alliance Sub-Committee
With the objective of enhancing business alliances among CSAJ members,
this sub-committee has provided IT companies, including venture businesses
and small to medium software vendors, presentation opportunities over the
past 5 years. The sub-committee will change its venue for providing presentation
opportunities to gBusiness Alliance Exchangeh in 2006 in order to increase
alliance opportunities and strengthen cooperation with relevant organizations.
ASP Promotion Sub-Committee
Newly established in 2006. The sub-committee conducts necessary activities
to promote wide-spread acceptance of ASP.
Financing Support Sub-Committee
The sub-committee studies the use of the gGo IT! Financing Programh established
in 2005 and looks at future challenges. The sub-committee also seeks to
determine the most suitable fund procurement procedure for CSAJ members
who are not eligible for the above program.
Public Relations Sub-Committee
The objectives of the sub-committee are to nurture PR professionals, share
information, and strengthen relations with the media. It organizes seminars
and discussion sessions attended by CSAJ members, outside experts and members
of the media, which have the dual role of fostering good relations with
the media. Discussions and presentations by sub-committee members of their
own corporate experiences provide a venue for deliberating the future role
of public relations.
Human Resource Development and Education Sub-Committee
The sub-committee looks into the urgent problem facing the IT industry
? the lack of skilled labor - with the objective of improving corporate
employee training. It holds seminars and lectures (study sessions) which
will strengthen the business foundation of member corporations.
Public Welfare Sub-Committee
The sub-committee seeks to create new business opportunities by holding
seminars for collecting and sharing information on public welfare (especially
healthcare) and lectures on the latest government trends.
OSS Promotion Sub-Committee
This sub-committee looks into actual applications and exchanges information
to grasp current issues and promote Open Source Software (OSS). It also
conducts seminars and lectures introducing new technologies and the latest
information on Linux, Apach and other OSS.
General Administration Committee
The committee addresses CSAJ policies, business plan, overall issues concerning
CSAJ activities, revisions to the association by-laws, and improvements
to the CSAJ Secretariat bylaws.
CAD Use Technical Expert Qualification Committee
The committee promotes the fair and smooth implementation of the Technical
Examination for CAD Users, which encourages the training of technical experts
in CAD. It also establishes and implements new testing procedures.
PC Financial & Accounting Expert Test Committee
The committee promotes the fair and smooth implementation of the Personal
Computer Accounting Manager Test, which encourages the training of accounting
software users. It also establishes and implements new testing procedures.
Management of Personal Information Committee
This committee is composed of Secretariat officers and is responsible for
establishing various rules on the protection of private information and
implementation of Secretariat employee training so that the personal information
at the Secretariat is handled appropriately.
Privacy Mark Compliance Office
CSAJ acquired the gPrivacy Markh for ensuring the protection of personal
information in 2004 and is striving to become a certified organization
for granting the Privacy Mark. This committee conducts the necessary steps
for establishing an office which will assess member eligibility to acquire
or renew the gPrivacy Mark.h
